Heritage Hotels Lisbon are inviting their guests to get to know the city on the famous number 28 tram, which runs through the capital from Prazeres to Graça. All guests staying at Solar do Castelo or As Janelas Verdes, both excellently located in old quarters of Lisbon very close to the tram route, will be offered free tickets to board the famous 28 on a route that runs through Alfama, Baixa, Chiado and Bairro Alto.
This campaign is helping to strengthen the position of these two boutique hotels belonging to the Portuguese Heritage Hotels Lisbon group and situated in Lisbon’s old quarters. Guests at Solar do Castelo, one of Lisbon’s showpieces, which opened in 1914, can get the 28 tram in Largo das Portas do Sol, while people staying at As Janelas Verdes can catch it by the Portuguese Parliament. The route passes São Vicente de Fora Church, Lisbon Cathedral and the Pombal downtown area before going up to Chiado and then down to Calçada da Estrela.
This is how Heritage Hotels Lisbon are giving people the opportunity to visit countless Lisbon sights and monuments along the 28 tram route. They include the National Pantheon, the Flea Market, Estrela Basilica and Garden and the Chiado Museum, among other unmissable historical attractions.
As Janelas Verdes, which is in a small late 18th-century mansion on a street with the same name, and Solar do Castelo, which is inside the walls of São Jorge Castle, on the site of the old kitchens of Paços da Alcáçova, Heritage Hotels Lisbon also include their most recent addition, Heritage Av Liberdade Hotel, which was designed by the Portuguese architect Miguel Câncio Martins, Hotel Britania, located only 50 metres from Avenida da Liberdade in a 1940s building designed by the famous Portuguese architect Cassiano Branco and recently restored to its original art deco style, and Hotel Lisboa Plaza, in a building designed by Lucínio Cruz with interiors by Graça Viterbo located between Travessa do Salitre and Avenida da Liberdade.
